The art of Geology II

This is what geologist call an eclogite one of my favourite rocks.
And the one on this picture is claimed to be the oldest found on earth - just imagine that!

White Sea - second part

Unfortunately it wasn't the nicest day when we were supposed to take boats out to some islands to see some very old rocks. It was raining and quite cold and not even the rain gear kept us completely dry so in the end everybody was freezing and we could just barely listen to the explanations of the russian geologist who had his private translator.
It is amazing that even at such a remote place, you can find some people and I also added a picture of the small village at the boarder of the White Sea.
