Hiking in the Norefjell - Augunshaug - Høgevarde

Next weekend - next hike ;). This time we were 4 so the car was full. It is nice to go with more people but on the other hand it takes time to get everybody together and it was much harder to leave early since the guys had forgotten to buy food and Marcus was hungry all the time ;) We didn't make it to the top of the Høgevarde which is 1459 meters high but we had a great time and this is most important.
In winter, the Norefjell is a ski resort and there were many huts and ski lifts at the beginning of the hike. Quite soon we were above the treeline and left the ski area behind. The area looked quite alpine with some remnants of snow:

The rocks there are great and soon all of us began to collect whatever seemed interesting (quartz in many color variations, amphibolites, epidot-rich rocks ...).
Soon, it was time for the first break:

Luiza Evgenyi (with the orange hat) Marcus

Then we came closer to the snow fields:

You can easily see the orange hat further up. Marcus in front looks like he doesn't really want to go further ;)
As expected the view was fanstastic:

And of course we had to play around in the snow ;) First, we took a group picture:

Then we became less serious:

and....

I probably don't have to mention that Genyia hat wet knees and a wet butt afterwards and that snow was falling of his hat and backpack ;)
After this fun we continued and saw the goal for the day (which was not reached):

The pyramid-like mounain in the back is actually the Høgevarde.

There was a quite strong wind in the region:

At a certain point we realized that we wouldn't make it to the top since it was quite late so we turned around. One of the last impressions:

On the way back I stopped for a few sunset pictures:

  3. And why one is not allowed to leave comments in Russian? I am protesting and complaining it is a discriminations against poor Russians that are readig the blog....

  4. I wanna have a glacier in my appartment... I wanna have my own microclimate ;)

@amet: stop complaining and whining... the Russians who can read the blog should be able to write in English :P

  5. sorry Artyom ... I was born with this hair and it has always been like that ;) And I agree with father T.

  6. I was born with my hair too... but contrary to Ju's hair, I'm loosing mine so sometime I don't have to worry about my haircut... only about my beardcut :D

  7. ehehehe - to both of you!
So, first Ju: your hair has always been like this, but at least when you were in AK - you probably had a haircut or something, because it was not as huge (Rainer like) hairstyle :)
To Vater T: as a proper Vater - you should have a long beard, and yes Russians who read the post are able to answer in English, but it is still a discrimination and I am going to do something about it - srat a rebellion ;P

To JU: Der Herr der Finsteriss is an interesting thing, some nice thoughts...

  8. hey there was a lot of wind - do you think any haircut would make a difference? Well, ok I admit: one but I am not shaving my head - out of the question.
Those Russians who want to comment in Russian should look for Russian blogs ;) After all I am writing in English and I am not a native speaker ...

  9. @amet: I guess you should propose your question to the ASCII comission... why they put only the Latinum letters into the ASCII code and not the Russians and Arabic and Jewish etc. also into it ;)
yeah it's discriminating but not the end of the world (hopefully ;) and imagine, your English will only improve by using it ;)

  10. Ju shave half of your head, and donate hair to poor Vater T :P

  11. amet don't you think it'll catch someone's eyes when I have curly and straight hair? I guess this will kind of ridiculous ;)
maybe I should wear a wig... but I have to decide which color... I guess red will be a good choice :D

    ReplyDelete
  12. I forgot... the wig should be red and curly of course... do I have to color my beard too? or should I wear a beardwig (or whatever it's called)? and green contact lenses for the eyes???

    ReplyDelete
  13. no, red will be a bad contrast to your eyes and socks. I would not suggest blue, since in Russia blue - means gay. But a ballet dress, pink fuzzy bunny ears and Ju's hair attached to your beard and I think Ptarmigan.de will start getting more customers if you dress like this and put your pic on the main page

  14. @Tobi: do you want to play a Viking? With red hair and green eyes? So where is your axe? And the most important thing - you know that you are not allowed to talk anymore (or only after 5 beers ;)).
@Artyom: my hair is punishment enough for me so I don't want to give this curse to others ;)

  15. Viking would be great. But then I ought to have freckles ;) And I still need the Glorious Axe called Executioner's Justice... then I have to train my howling and hollering. I guess then the perfect Viking will become reality ;)
@amet: I still don't understand why blue is the color for gay. I guess pink is even more gay than any other color.

    ReplyDelete
  16. @Tobi: pink - means lesbian
and you wouldn't do a good viking, since you are too tall for that and too skiny. You need to be short and have a huge beer belly to be a proper viking

    ReplyDelete
  17. @Ju: look at your profile picture - kid playing in the mud :)
you did not have as much hair then :P so if you cut some and then glue them as a beard - you can make a good viking, you can use your hammer as a weapon

    ReplyDelete
  18. @amet: I don't think the Vikings were small and fat... when I'm thinking about the Vikings I imagine a tall and muscular man with reddish beard and hair and giant battle axe in his hands... I guess you imagine trolls and goblins instead of Vikings ;)

    ReplyDelete
  19. Haven't you seen Asterisk and Obeliks? Obelik is the real iking - big, strong but fat

    ReplyDelete
  20. I ever thought the Vikings were living in Scandinavia. But they are the French... thanks Amet... you really are crazy ;)

do you know Hagar the Horrible??? He is a Viking. And guess... he fits your description also ;)

    Amet - Crazy Russian says:
this is the proper image for a viking
    tequi says:
    no
    Amet - Crazy Russian says:
the main army of vikigs - consists of tall muscular people with red hair and breaded beards
    tequi says:
    on sea
    tequi says:
    and mostly not on land
    Amet - Crazy Russian says:
but their commander is a short big man with a huge belly and a helmet with horns
    Amet - Crazy Russian says:
    exactly like Obeliks
    tequi says:
    obelix is not the commander
    Amet - Crazy Russian says:
    yeah
    Amet - Crazy Russian says:
    I know
    Amet - Crazy Russian says:
but the commander shoud look like obeliks
    tequi says:
but they didn't really look like that
    Amet - Crazy Russian says:
    well mayb eyour vikings didn't
    Amet - Crazy Russian says:
    my did
    tequi says:
the gallians were a tribe of the celts and lived more than a thousand years before the vikings

    ReplyDelete
  22. actually then we (as Germans) are also Vikings ;) Since the Gallians are a tribe of the Celts and the Celts are some of our ancestors and Artyom thinks that Gallians are Vikings...
so next time I need to participate in the "get-in-the-spring-naked" contest ;)
